Gourmet Ingredients for a Balanced Board:
- Honey: A touch of natural sweetness is indispensable. Opt for a high-quality, free-flowing honey, perfect for drizzling over creamy cheeses and fresh fruits. Shop Honey
- Mixed Fruit Preserves: Introduce a delightful fruity and tangy counterpoint to the savory components. Apricot, fig, or berry preserves are excellent choices that complement a variety of cheeses. Shop Fruit Preserves
- Kalamata Olives: These dark, rich, and briny olives provide a wonderful burst of flavor and a distinct textural contrast that is essential to any charcuterie. Shop Kalamata Olives
- Cornichons: Tiny, crisp, and delightfully tart gherkins that serve as an excellent palate cleanser, offering a refreshing break between rich bites. Shop Cornichons
- Candied Pecans: A sweet and crunchy element that adds a delightful texture and a hint of indulgence. Almonds or walnuts can be substituted if preferred. Shop Candied Pecans
- Creamy Brie Wheels: A soft, buttery, and approachable cheese that is universally loved. Its mild flavor profile makes it highly versatile for pairing with a multitude of items on the board. Shop Brie
- Sliced Manchego Cheese: This firm, slightly salty sheep’s milk cheese boasts a distinctive, nutty flavor. Its elegant triangular slices contribute appealing visual interest to the arrangement. Shop Manchego
- Aged White Cheddar: A sharp, delightfully crumbly cheese that delivers a robust and complex flavor, adding a bold presence to your selection. Shop Aged White Cheddar
- Cranberry Chèvre Goat Cheese Log: Offers a wonderfully tangy creaminess infused with festive cranberry notes. This cheese adds a vibrant pop of color and a unique, zesty flavor dimension. Shop Cranberry Chèvre
- Green Grapes: Fresh, plump, and juicy, grapes are indispensable for adding a burst of natural sweetness and acting as a refreshing palate cleanser. Shop Green Grapes
- Uncured Applewood Smoked Salami: The perfect choice for creating those iconic, elegant salami roses. Its smoky, savory depth is a charcuterie staple. Shop Smoked Salami
- Sliced Prosciutto: Delicately thin and subtly salty, prosciutto adds an undeniable touch of elegance and savory richness to the board. Shop Prosciutto
- Fig and Olive Crisps: These provide a fantastic crunchy texture and a sophisticated sweet-savory flavor profile that beautifully complements a variety of cheeses. Shop Fig and Olive Crisps
- Star-shaped Crackers: A whimsical and unmistakably festive addition that reinforces the holiday theme. Opt for neutral, savory crackers to allow other flavors to shine. Shop Star Crackers
- Fresh Rosemary: Beyond its role as a decorative garnish, rosemary sprigs infuse the board with a fragrant, pine-like aroma, closely resembling the foliage of a classic holiday wreath. Shop Fresh Rosemary
- Raspberries: Bright red, sweet-tart berries that offer a vibrant pop of color and a burst of juicy freshness. Shop Raspberries
- Blackberries: Dark, luscious berries that introduce another layer of sweetness and a rich, deep hue, adding visual depth. Shop Blackberries
- Green Olives: Offering a milder, less intense briny flavor compared to Kalamata olives, these provide a lovely variety and fresh green color. Shop Green Olives
Essential Supplies for Assembly:
- 20” Round Walnut Wood Board: This substantial and elegant board serves as the perfect foundation and canvas for your wreath, providing ample space and a beautiful backdrop.
- Small Bowls: Crucial for neatly containing wet or smaller ingredients like olives, cornichons, honey, and preserves. They help keep your board organized and prevent flavors from mingling.
- Honey Drizzler: Both functional and aesthetically pleasing, a honey drizzler makes serving honey effortless for guests, allowing them to add just the right amount of sweetness.
- Cheese Knives: Provide a selection of specialized knives suitable for different cheese textures (e.g., soft, firm, crumbly) to ensure your guests can easily cut and serve themselves.

How to Build Your Spectacular Charcuterie Wreath Board: A Step-by-Step Guide
Assembling this stunning charcuterie wreath is an enjoyable and creative endeavor. Follow these detailed steps to craft a beautiful, delicious, and memorable centerpiece for your holiday table. Remember, thoughtful presentation significantly enhances the dining experience, so take your time and savor the artistic process!
- Step 1: Anchor the Wreath Base. Start with your chosen 20” round walnut wood board. Begin by strategically placing the small bowls, filled with honey, fruit preserves, Kalamata olives, and cornichons, around the outer perimeter of the board. It’s crucial to always leave the very center of the board open; this area will form the inviting “hole” of your festive wreath. Spacing these initial anchor points evenly will naturally guide the overall circular structure of your arrangement.
- Step 2: Place Your Cheeses. Next, gently position the two creamy Brie wheels on opposite sides along the outer edge of the board, near your previously placed bowls. Then, take four of the elegant Manchego triangles and fan them out artfully around the bowl containing the fruit preserves. Arrange the remaining four Manchego slices in a similar fanned pattern around the honey bowl. This technique creates visually appealing clusters and varied cheese offerings. Take your block of aged white cheddar and slice half of it into thin, uniform pieces. Crumble the remaining half into small, irregular chunks, which adds textural contrast. Place these slices and crumbles on opposite sides of the board. For the cranberry Chèvre goat cheese log, carefully cut it into 10 round slices. Fan 5 of these rounds on one side of the board and the other 5 rounds on the opposite side, introducing a beautiful pop of festive color and a tangy flavor profile.
- Step 3: Distribute Fresh Grapes. Now, add the 4 small bunches of vibrant green grapes to the board. Distribute them strategically and evenly around the growing circular arrangement, tucking them between other ingredients. Grapes provide a burst of freshness, natural sweetness, and act as excellent visual fillers and palate cleansers.
- Step 4: Create Salami Roses. This is a key technique for adding a touch of elegance and artistry! Prepare 4 beautiful salami roses. If you need a visual demonstration, be sure to check out my helpful salami rose tutorial. Use a wine glass for crafting two larger, more dramatic roses, and a shot glass for two smaller, more delicate ones. Once each rose is perfectly formed, carefully place them on the board in four separate, equidistant locations. These salami roses will serve as stunning savory focal points within your wreath.
- Step 5: Add Prosciutto Rolls. Gently roll or artfully fold the delicate slices of prosciutto into elegant, small bundles. Place these exquisite rolls near the creamy Brie rounds on the board. Their soft texture and savory, slightly salty flavor will beautifully complement the mild cheese.

- Step 6: Arrange Crisps and Star Crackers. Begin by fanning the Fig and Olive crisps gracefully around the base of the salami roses. This creates a wonderful textured border and adds another layer of flavor. Next, artfully arrange the festive star crackers. Distribute them evenly throughout the board, placing some around and others lightly on top of various ingredients. This adds visual height, dimension, and an extra touch of holiday charm.
- Step 7: Tuck in Fresh Rosemary Sprigs for the “Wreath” Effect. Now, it’s time to bring out the classic wreath aesthetic! Carefully tuck the fresh rosemary sprigs around both the outside and inside edges of the circular arrangement of ingredients. The vibrant green of the rosemary not only adds a beautiful visual element and a delightful aromatic, pine-like scent but also distinctly mimics the lush foliage of a traditional holiday wreath.
- Step 8: Garnish with Berries and Olives. Generously garnish your charcuterie wreath with bright, juicy raspberries and deep-hued blackberries. Scatter them thoughtfully across the board to create pops of color and introduce refreshing sweetness. Add the green olives and a final sprinkle of candied pecans to fill any remaining small gaps, introducing additional diverse flavors and satisfying textures to complete the look.
- Step 9: Final Touches for Serving. To complete your stunning presentation, place a honey drizzler directly into the bowl of honey, making it easily accessible for guests. Arrange a selection of appropriate cheese knives next to the Brie rounds and other cheese varieties, ensuring everyone can comfortably serve themselves. Your spectacular **Charcuterie Wreath Board** is now flawlessly complete and ready to be the dazzling focal point of your holiday spread! Serve immediately and relish in the appreciative gasps and delighted smiles of your guests. Enjoy every delicious moment!

Tips for the Perfect Charcuterie Wreath Every Time
Creating a charcuterie wreath that is both visually stunning and incredibly delicious is more accessible than you might think. With a few expert tips, you can ensure your board is a showstopper at every holiday gathering:
- Embrace Variety: The key to an outstanding charcuterie board is a rich diversity of flavors, textures, and colors. Aim for a balanced selection that includes sweet, savory, salty, and tangy elements, alongside creamy, crunchy, soft, and firm textures. This not only makes the board incredibly appealing to the eye but also ensures there’s something to delight every palate.
- Optimize Temperature: Most cheeses reach their peak flavor and ideal texture when served at room temperature. For optimal enjoyment, remove your cheeses from the refrigerator approximately 30-60 minutes before you begin assembling your board.
- Smart Pre-preparation: To minimize stress on the day of your event, tackle some prep work in advance. Wash and thoroughly dry all your fruits and vegetables. Slice harder cheeses and crumble softer ones. Roll or fold your cured meats. This preparatory stage can be completed an hour or two before guests arrive, making the final assembly quick, efficient, and enjoyable.
- Master the Art of Filling Gaps: Once your larger and primary elements are securely in place, use smaller items like fresh berries, an assortment of nuts, various olives, and extra crackers to fill in any empty spaces. This technique creates a lush, abundant, and irresistibly overflowing appearance, characteristic of a beautifully arranged holiday wreath.
- Consider Dietary Needs: If you are aware of specific dietary restrictions among your guests (e.g., gluten-free, vegetarian, nut allergies), consider including clearly labeled options. This thoughtfulness ensures all your guests feel welcomed and can enjoy the spread without worry.
- Seasonal Adaptability: While this design is perfect for a holiday wreath, the underlying concept is incredibly versatile! Adapt it for any season or occasion by swapping out festive colors for spring pastels and flowers for an Easter celebration, or bright, sun-kissed berries for a vibrant summer picnic or Fourth of July gathering.
