Description

Deliciously cute and unbelievably easy to make, these Butterfly Cinnamon Rolls make a charming spring and summer breakfast treat that will delight everyone.


Ingredients

  • 1 (5 count) can of Jumbo or Grands! Cinnamon Rolls with icing included
  • 10 Strawberry Pocky Sticks
  • 15 spring or Pastel Blend M&M’s
  • Spring or pastel colored sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy release.
  2. On a clean work surface, separate the cinnamon rolls and carefully unravel each one into a long strip of dough.
  3. Take one unravelled cinnamon roll strip and cut it in half lengthwise. Line the two halves next to each other. Roll the top half of each strip outwards and downwards, stopping just over halfway down. Then, roll the bottom half of each strip upwards to meet the top rolls, forming symmetrical butterfly wings. Ensure the top rolls are slightly larger than the bottom ones.
  4. Carefully transfer the shaped butterfly cinnamon roll to the prepared baking sheet. Repeat this process with the remaining cinnamon rolls until all are shaped into butterflies.
  5. Bake for 20-22 minutes, or until the rolls are beautifully golden brown. Remove from the oven and let them cool completely on a wire rack.
  6. Transfer the included icing into a piping bag or a plastic baggie with a small corner snipped off for controlled decorating.
  7. Cut each Strawberry Pocky stick in half. Place a small dollop of icing on the pink tip of each half stick and press an M&M onto it. Let these set to create the butterfly antennas.
  8. Decorate each cooled cinnamon roll by outlining the swirled shape of the butterfly wings with the icing. Immediately sprinkle with spring or pastel colored sprinkles while the icing is wet.
